Winchester - Union CityTransmission Line Rebuild Project

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) is rebuilding the 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line that is located in Winchester and to the outskirts of Union City. The improvements are essential to ensure continued reliable electric service is available for local customers.

The approximately $11 million project includes upgrading the 6-mile 69 kV transmission line and will decrease the potential for power outages and speed recovery of service when outages occur. Most of the project will be rebuilt on the existing path. Alternative study segments are being considered and evaluated for new construction along other portions. The interactive map above shows the proposed study segments in relation to the existing lines.
