Eagle Pass - Del RioTransmission Line Rebuild Project

AEP Texas representatives plan to invest about $63 million to rebuild an 54-mile 138-kilovolt electric transmission line in Eagle Pass and Del Rio. Plans involve replacing deteriorating wooden poles from the 1950s with modern steel poles. The existing transmission line has experienced several outages since 2015 and these improvements enhance the line's operational performance.

Project Updates

April 2022 - Right-of-way agents plan to begin communications to landowners about preliminary field activities such as soil boring and environmental surveys late spring.
