Southwestern Electric Power (SWEPCO) proposes a 138-kilovolt transmission line in northeastern Van Zandt County. The project strengthens the local electric system and ensures safe, reliable service in the Grand Saline area.
The proposed transmission line route begins at a point of connection along an existing SWEPCO line near the Morton Salt Mine and ends about 3 miles east along an existing Wood County Electric Cooperative transmission line.
The SWEPCO project was made necessary following the removal of infrastructure owned by the Rayburn Country Electric Cooperative.
